"From Unexpected Blessings to Joyful Challenges: My Life with 16 Children!"
Lyetten Reback joyfully welcomed her 16th child, a handsome baby boy named Vaughn, into their somewhat unconventional family. Lyetten and her husband, David, had never imagined having such a large family, especially since Lyetten herself had limited exposure to children throughout her life.
Their journey began when they got married at the age of 19, and a year and a half later, they had their first child, Daly Kay, now 21 years old. Since then, they have been blessed with fifteen more children - eleven biological and four adopted.
In their beautiful family of nine girls and seven boys, each child has a unique name: Daly Kay, Ryli RaVaye, Bliss Berit, Kemper Clara, Glory Grace, Trinity Tate, Jon Courson, Liberty Cross, Judson Worth, Shepherd David, Ransom Witness, Sojourner Hope, Victory Rose, Stone Prosper, Verity Banner, and Vaughn McCrae.
Lyetten, a devoted mother, takes on the responsibility of homeschooling all her children. She shared insights into their daily routine, stating, "I am a mother of 16 children! Just 16 months after our wedding, we had our first child. I never imagined that we would have this many children. Taking care of a household with 16 children is like managing a small or medium-sized business. We probably serve more meals than small cafes do in a day. When things get tough, I pray, and I won't say I haven't shed a few tears over the years," Lyetten said.
Her last pregnancy was not without challenges, as she suffered from a hemorrhage. Initially fearing a miscarriage, Lyetten received a pleasant surprise during the ultrasound when she discovered her son was still there, despite the bleeding. Vaughn's chances were low, but he fought bravely and overcame all complications, inspiring Lyetten to name him after a friend who is a soldier.
Despite the trials, Lyetten and David feel immensely blessed by their large family and embrace every joy and challenge that comes with having 16 children. Their home is filled with love, laughter, and a deep sense of gratitude for the incredible journey they've embarked upon together.
