The journey to becoming a mother of triplets can be filled with both joys and challenges. It’s a unique and extraordinary experience that requires a lot of strength and resilience. Here’s a shared struggle journey that someone might face while becoming a mother of triplets:
Meet the miracle triplet toddlers who were born through I.V.F ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ despite their mum being told that a triplet ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ wouldn’t be possible unless one of them was ᴛᴇʀᴍɪɴᴀᴛᴇᴅ. When Holly Bennett and her husband Jason decided to try for a baby, they found out that Holly needed to have one of her ꜰᴀʟʟᴏᴘɪᴀɴ ᴛᴜʙᴇs ʀᴇᴍᴏᴠᴇᴅ, as she had a ʙɪʀᴛʜ ᴅᴇꜰᴇᴄᴛ, which meant that one of her ꜰᴀʟʟᴏᴘɪᴀɴ ᴛᴜʙᴇs was closed, preventing her from getting ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ.
Due to the ᴛᴜʙᴇ removal and her age, Holly and Jason were referred to a ʀᴇᴘʀᴏᴅᴜᴄᴛɪᴠᴇ ᴇɴᴅᴏᴄʀɪɴᴏʟᴏɢɪsᴛ, and despite her doctor telling her it was highly unlikely for her to become ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ that month due to the position of the ᴇɢɢs being on the ‘wrong side’, she fell ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with a boy in February 2012. The ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ went well in the beginning until the day before she was due to ɢɪᴠᴇ ʙɪʀᴛʜ. Holly was admitted to the hospital and was induced that evening after showing signs of ᴘʀᴇ-ᴇᴄʟᴀᴍᴘsɪᴀ, which means high ʙʟᴏᴏᴅ ᴘʀᴇssᴜʀᴇ in ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ. The next morning, Holly went into ʟᴀʙᴏʀ, but due to sᴇᴠᴇʀᴀʟ ᴇʀʀᴏʀs, her son ᴘᴀssᴇᴅ ᴀᴡᴀʏ on October 26, 2012.
Following months of trying to heal from the ɢʀɪᴇꜰ, Holly and Jason decided to try again and went to their ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ doctor. Through ɪɴᴊᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴs and several ᴄʏᴄʟᴇs later, she fell ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with a baby girl in January 2013. They tried to stay positive despite their ɢʀɪᴇꜰ from the ʟᴏss of their baby boy. However, four months into her ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ, on May 24, 2013, Holly ʟᴏsᴛ her baby girl due to ᴄʜʀᴏᴍᴏsᴏᴍᴀʟ ᴀʙɴᴏʀᴍᴀʟɪᴛɪᴇs. A few months later, they began ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛs for the third time, but this time, Holly did not become ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ. Following months with no explanation or reason for her inability to ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇ, they decided to try through Iɴ Vɪᴛʀᴏ Fᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴢᴀᴛɪᴏɴ (I.V.F), and by that time, Holly was 38-years-old.
According to her doctor, the odds of a ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ via I.V.F were about 50/50, so, desperate to have children, they ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪsᴇᴅ enough ᴇɢɢs to try twice. Half of her ᴢʏɢᴏᴛᴇ ᴄᴇʟʟs were thawed, and by the third day, only three ᴍᴜʟᴛɪᴄᴇʟʟᴜʟᴀʀ ᴇᴍʙʀʏᴏs remained. They decided to use all three and, despite the low odds of having multiple births, Holly became ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with triplets. Despite being told by doctors that they would need to ᴛᴇʀᴍɪɴᴀᴛᴇ one of her triplets, she gave birth to all three triplets on June 9, 2015. Beau, Wyatt, and Savannah were born only a minute apart. Holly said: “Honestly, I laughed a bit uncontrollably – it was disbelief and sʜᴏᴄᴋ. Jason was so happy. I was nervous. He had no clue how ʀɪsᴋʏ the ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ was, but it was all I could think about. I had learned to expect the worst – as you can see, I was conditioned to understand ɢʀɪᴇꜰ and ʟᴏss. I understood the ʀɪsᴋs of a triplet ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ and knew that a positive outcome was not likely.” She added: “I am extremely proud. Raising triplets isn’t easy, but it is so rewarding. I think it has been so amazing to be part of a unit like they are since the day they were born. I hear that I am superwoman and a role model for some, which is flattering. Everyone tells us we are so incredibly blessed to have three healthy miracle babies.”
