In 2013, the arrival of mother Alexandra Kinova (23 years old, Czech Republic) created a media frenzy as a young mother gave birth to 5 children at once. Notably, she conceived entirely naturally, only discovering the exact number of fetuses in her womb in the last month of pregnancy.
This marked Alexandra Kinova's second pregnancy. During this pregnancy, she observed that her belly was much larger than the first time, suspecting she might be pregnant with twins due to both her husband and herself being born into families with double genes.
During her first prenatal visit, the doctor confirmed the couple's speculation. However, just 2 months before the due date, ultrasound results astonishingly revealed that she was carrying 4 babies simultaneously.
But that wasn't the final count. A month before the operating table, the discovery of the 5th fetus, "hidden" until then, appeared during a routine ultrasound.
"I was sobbing right in the hospital bed when the doctor said, 'I see another head'," Alexandra confided. A quintuplet pregnancy is rare, but a completely natural conception like Alexandra's is even rarer.
Particularly, despite carrying 5 babies, Alexandra's pregnancy progressed quite smoothly. She revealed that after the first 4 months of morning sickness, she didn't experience any more pregnancy complications.
Carrying a substantial pregnant belly, although heavy, she could still sleep well when lying on her side and didn't encounter issues like shortness of breath.
Alexandra gave birth on June 2, 2013, with the participation of 40 doctors and nurses. Five babies, including 4 boys and 1 girl, were born via caesarean section without any complications. Post-birth, the babies were immediately transferred to the intensive care unit. The doctor reported that all 5 were healthy and had a 95% chance of growing up normally without any birth defects.
Currently, the children from the exceptional birth of mother Alexandra are 10 years old. Despite being the result of a quintuplet birth, these children haven't faced any dangerous complications like other twins or multiple pregnancies from birth until their growing up years.
Every year, this couple continues to share pictures of their beloved children and consistently receives attention from people around the world.
