Αimee and Jenna Hobbs, of Stony Plain, Αlberta, Ϲanada, had noticed a lot of mothers were insecure about their bodies before and after
To promote body positivity, TWO sisters have documented the beauty of expectant and postpartum women in these breathtaking photographs.
Aimee and Jenna Hobbs of Stony Plain, Alberta, Canada, began the initiative in the summer of 2012 after observing that many mothers were uncomfortable with being photographed during and after their pregnancies.
Since then, the photographers have disseminated a positive message by photographing fifteen mothers with their children each summer.
The subjects of the photographs are instructed to wear no more than lingerie, and many have posed topless or while suckling their infants.
Jenna, a 33-year-old mother of five, stated, "We observed that many women desired to lose 10 pounds prior to appearing in photographs.
The issue with this is that when their children look back at old photographs, they will observe that their mother is absent from many of them.
We wished to commemorate the attractiveness of the postpartum appearance, including stretch marks, c-section scarring, and weight gain.
"We received a tremendous response from women interested in participating.
It is difficult for them to do because they are accustomed to hiding this aspect of themselves.
Over the years, the sisters have received a great deal of positive feedback from participating mothers.
The series helped many participants embrace their postpartum bodies for the first time.
Aimee, 36, said, "So many people have told us that doing this was a major turning point in their lives.
We have never received negative comments.
Everyone we worked with had positive comments.
In recent years, the series has acquired a great deal of popularity, with over 200 mothers expressing interest in the 2018 summer shoot.
The sisters have no plans to end the series any time soon.
Αimee said: “It’s amazing how many people want to be a part of it.
I wish we had the time to include all of them.
We are constantly looking for new mums to join our project, regardless of their age, shape, size or ethnicity.”
Last month we told how a mum-of-one shared candid postpartum photos in the weeks after giving claiming there’s no such thing as “snap-back”.
Αnd these three mums all LOVED giving – and reveal how you can too.
Meanwhile Fabulous columnist Stacey Solomon admitted she had no idea how tough would be.
