Pericrocotus miniatus, also known as the Small Minivet, is a small passerine bird found in the forests and woodlands of South and Southeast Asia, including India, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, and Indonesia.

The Small Minivet has a distinctive and colorful plumage, with males having bright red-orange upperparts and black wings, while females have grey upperparts and yellow underparts. Both sexes have a black mask and a thick black beak.

The Small Minivet is known for its melodious and sweet song, which is a series of clear and high-pitched notes. It feeds mainly on insects and small invertebrates.

Although the Small Minivet is not considered to be threatened, its population is declining due to habitat loss and fragmentation. Its conservation status is currently listed as “Least Concern” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
