It wasn’t too tough for Genevieve “Genna” Knox when she got pregnant at the age of 39. She also experienced two additional unexpected developments in her pregnancy, so that wasn’t the only surprise.
When the ultrasound revealed she was having twins in the 20th week, the woman experienced her first surprise. After a lengthy period of silence, the technician stated abruptly, “Shall we wait? Are you going to have twins? Knox responded “no,” but she quickly realized what the technician was referring to. She remarked, “I looked up and noticed as plain as day that there were two kids.
In the first trimester, when the thickness of the fluid accumulation behind the back of the tus’s is measured and, among other things, makes it possible to identify twin pregnancies, Knox, a fifth-grade teacher in San Diego, California, gave up the ‘us’.

Genna and Kyle, who already had a 6-year-old son named Liam, thought they were the luckiest couple in the world when they learned they were having twins.
“I made the decision to have children rather late, and I was unsure of my ability to conceive. We were overjoyed, she affirmed.
Of course, along with their happiness, they also had worries. Knox recalled saying to Kyle that he couldn’t put three child seats in his vehicle. Later, he realized that he would unquestionably require a larger vehicle.
The couple decided to create a four-dimensional ultrasound of the fetus nine weeks later, not for medical reasons but just as a keepsake so they could share the images with their family.
Knox recalled that the sonographer spent a long time to examine her, but when she eventually asked when she discovered that Knox was carrying twins, she was beginning to feel concerned. The ultrasound at 20 weeks revealed the issue, the woman claimed, and the sonographer told her that she was actually carrying triplets. I hardly recall anything else that happened at that time. I was really stupid,” the mother admitted.
At 33 weeks gestation, Knox gave birth to her daughters on March 21, 2019. After a brief stint in the “t” “ts” ” ut,” Kaylee, Lily, and Cecilia quickly gained strength and are currently in kindergarten.
According to obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Sean Daneshmand, “hidden triplet s” are not as uncommon as you might initially believe. The doctor revealed that the “hidden” fetus normally becomes obvious between the 26th and 28th weeks of pregnancy. “When the fetuses are still very small, one can hide behind the other,” the doctor added.
“Due of the size, the ultrasound probes see a little less as the baby grows. Therefore, after about 15 or 16 weeks, it becomes difficult to see the entire fetus at once even though we can see individual organs. So ultimately, over time, it becomes slightly simpler to miss a second or third fetus, according to obstetrician Dr. Ashley Roman, who also noted that due to technological advancements, it’s unusual to miss a fetus for so long.
